<mark>9. In 1779, grenadier battalions in six different Sepoy battalions along with two in Marines</mark> were merged together as the first grenadier regiment.
<mark>10. Between 1779 and 1922, there were six regiments of Grenadiers.</mark>
<mark>11. In 1922, when the British conducted the Indian Army reforms, the Grenadiers were</mark> renamed 4th Bombay Grenadiers.
<mark>12. Even before 1947 the Grenadiers had participated in every major war within Indian sub-continent and outside fought by the British.</mark>
<mark>The foreign wars include Afghan wars, Burmese wars, Yemen war, Palestine campaign, wars in Africa and China.</mark>
13. It earned 17 major battle honours before World War I.
<mark>14. The regiment won around 22 battle honours in World War I and II.</mark>
<mark>The main honours include Battle of Sharqat, East Africa campaign, Fort Dufferin in Mandalay, Battle of Meiktila, Kohima and Taungtha in Myanmar.</mark>
<mark>15. Many of the battalions in the regiment were turned into motorized infantry during the</mark> wars.
<mark>16. In 2015, the Grenadiers participated in the Moscow Victory Day Parade which was</mark> held to commemorate the 70<sup>th</sup> anniversary of the victory in Europe ending World War II.
<mark>17. The Regiment has participated in every major war fought since 1947.</mark>
<mark>Among the important battle honours it received are Asal Uttar of 1965, Chakra of 1971 and Tololing & Tiger Hill of 1999.</mark>

<mark>18. Two soldiers of the regiment during the British rule were honoured with the Indian Order of Merit.</mark>
<mark>They are Subedar Rahim Khan who was honoured for his bravery in Palestine against the Ottoman army in April 1918 and Naik Shivlal Dalal who was honoured in 1933.</mark>
<mark>19. There are currently 19 battalions in Indian Army besides 2 Territorial Army battalions and 2 battalions of Rashtriya Rifles.</mark>
<mark>There are more than 15,000 soldiers in this regiment. The regimental centre is located in</mark> Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
<mark>20. The insignia of the Regiment is a grenade with flames sprouting from it. The White</mark> Horse of Hanover, a symbol of British heraldry, is in the middle of the grenade.
The motto of the Regiment is “ Sarvada Shaktishali ” (Ever Powerful).
<mark>21. Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav is the only living PVC awardee from the Regiment</mark> and the youngest to have ever been decorated with the honour.
<mark>The other two are Company Quarter Master Havildar Abdul Hamid of 4th Grenadiers who was honoured for his supreme sacrifice in 1965 Indo-Pak War and the other is Major Hoshiar Singh of 3rd Grenadiers who was honoured for his indomitable fighting spirit in 1971 Indo-Pak War. Yadav of 18th Grenadiers was honoured for his exemplary act of gallantry in 1999 Kargil War.</mark>

15 AMAZING FACTS ABOUT NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)
<mark>A tri-service organization, NCC (National Cadet Corps) is the military cadet corps wing of the Indian Armed Forces. The organization came into being few months after the 1</mark><sup>st</sup> <mark>Independence Day with the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. Since then, the corps has made India proud on countless occasions and served the country in numerous ways.</mark>
<mark>Here, we list out a selection of the some of the most amazing facts about the corps that we think our readers would find interesting.</mark>
<mark>1. NCC today has around 13 Lakh cadets in the country; it had started with just 20,000 in 1948.</mark>

<mark>5. NCC cadets were the 2</mark><sup>nd</sup> <mark>line of defence during the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971.</mark>
<mark>They were deployed in ordinance factories, for supplying arms and also as patrol parties. A large number of NCC cadets also assisted in traffic control and rescue operations.</mark>
<mark>6. During the trying times of 1963 and beyond, NCC training was made compulsory to meet the requirements of the nation.</mark>
<mark>Few years later in 1968, National Cade Corps once again become a voluntary organization. Seen in the image below are cadets suspended from an Indian Army helicopter display their skills at an NCC rally in New Delhi.</mark>

10. The current NCC song was written by Sudarshan Faakir.
<mark>Earlier, the NCC song was “</mark> <mark>Kadam mila ke chal</mark> <mark>.”</mark>
<mark>Now, the official song is “</mark> <mark>ham sabh bharatiya hain</mark> <mark>,” meaning “we are all Indians.” And it was adopted in 1982.</mark>
<mark>11. The motto of the organization is ‘UNITY AND DISCIPLINE’ – ‘</mark> <mark>Ekta aur Anushasan’.</mark>
<mark>The motto was first adopted in 1957. The organization strives to serve as a powerful cohesive force that brings together youngsters from across the country and molds them into exemplary citizens.</mark>

FEATURES OF RAFALE AIRCRAFT: AT A GLANCE
<mark>Rafale is a twin-jet combat aircraft capable of carrying out a wide range of short and long-range</mark>
<mark>missions, including ground and sea attacks, reconnaissance, highaccuracy strikes and nuclear strike deterrence.</mark>
The Rafale fighter plane is a multirole fighter aircraft manufactured by a company called Dassault Aviation of France . The first Rafale-A class aircraft took off on 4 July 1986,
while the Rafale-C class aircraft flew on 19 May 1991. 165 units of this aircraft have been built from the year 1986 to 2018 . Rafael is available in one seat and double seat and double engine in A, B, C and M categories.
Rafael; Being able to carry out a nuclear attack with air-to-air, air-to-ground attacks, as well as air-to-air missiles with flying at very low altitudes. Not only this, oxygen generation system is installed in this aircraft and there is no need to fill liquid oxygen. This aircraft performs 3D mapping with electronic scanning radar to find enemy positions in real time.
Apart from this, it can also detect the long-distance danger in every season in time and keep an eye on several targets simultaneously during close combat. It is also capable of flying from aircraft carrier in addition to the ground military base.
