The Axiom-4 mission, carrying Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, has been delayed indefinitely due to a pressurization issue in the Russian Zvezda module of the ISS. Earlier delays were caused by electrical faults in the SpaceX Dragon capsule, weather issues, and an oxygen leak during engine tests. Despite plans to launch on June 11, NASA and Roscosmos are still evaluating the Zvezda module's condition. A new launch date will be announced after technical reviews are complete. Shukla will be the first Indian astronaut on the ISS, staying for 14 days to conduct experiments.

A new study by the University of Plymouth reveals that over 21% of the global ocean has darkened between 2003 and 2022 due to shrinking photic zones—the sunlit layers crucial for marine life and photosynthesis. This darkening, caused by factors like rising sea temperatures, altered plankton dynamics, ocean circulation changes, and coastal runoff, is most prominent in climate-sensitive regions such as the Arctic, Antarctic, and Gulf Stream. As light penetration decreases, marine species that depend on sunlight for feeding, movement, and reproduction are being forced into shallower waters, increasing competition and threatening biodiversity.
